Why convert AVIF to PNG
AVIF is a compact web format that many editors, slide programs and upload forms still cannot open. PNG is accepted nearly everywhere and keeps transparent areas, which makes it the safe choice for logos and cut-out graphics.
What to expect
PNG files are lossless, so the converted image holds exactly what your browser decoded from the AVIF. The file will usually be much larger than the AVIF. If you do not need transparency and want a smaller file, the AVIF to JPG converter is the better choice.
Browser support
Your browser has to be able to open AVIF for this tool to read the file. Current versions of the main browsers can. If yours cannot, you see an error for that file instead of a broken image.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The work runs inside your browser on your own device. Your files are never sent to our server or to anyone else. You can confirm this in your browser's developer tools: the network tab shows no file data leaving the page.
Does it keep the transparent background?
Yes. Transparent areas in the AVIF stay transparent in the PNG.
Why is the PNG so much bigger?
AVIF compresses far harder than PNG. The PNG holds the same picture without lossy compression.
What about animated AVIF?
You get a still image of the first frame.
