How to use it
- Add the PDF you want to split. The page count is shown.
- Choose how to split it under Options. For ranges, type something like 1-3, 5, 8-.
- Press Split PDF and download the files, or a ZIP if there are several.
Three ways to split
Every page as its own PDF turns a 12-page file into 12 single-page PDFs. Custom ranges makes one PDF for each range you list, so 1-3, 4-6 gives two files. Extract selected pages combines the pages you list into one new PDF, in the order you type them.
Writing page ranges
Separate items with commas. A single number means one page, 2-5 means pages 2 to 5, and 8- means page 8 to the last page. The tool checks the numbers against the page count and tells you if something is outside the document.
Private by design
The PDF is read and rewritten in your browser. The original file is not changed, and nothing is uploaded, which matters when you are separating pages of a private document.
Limits
Password-protected PDFs need their password removed first. Pages are copied as they are, so quality does not change. Bookmarks and some form fields from the original may not carry over.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The work runs inside your browser on your own device. Your files are never sent to our server or to anyone else. You can confirm this in your browser's developer tools: the network tab shows no file data leaving the page.
Can I remove pages from a PDF?
Yes. Use Extract selected pages and list every page you want to keep. The pages you leave out are dropped.
Can I put pages in a different order?
Yes. In Extract mode the pages follow the order you type, so 3, 1, 2 gives a file starting with page 3.
How do I split a big PDF to email it?
Use Custom ranges to cut it into parts, such as 1-20, 21-40, and send them separately.
