- Set the quality under Options. Higher keeps more detail.
- Download the WebP files one by one or as a ZIP.
Smaller files with transparency
WebP supports transparent backgrounds like PNG does, and it can compress much harder. A logo, icon or screenshot that is hundreds of kilobytes as PNG is often far smaller as WebP, which helps web pages load faster.
Choosing a quality
At 85 most images look the same as the PNG. Flat graphics with sharp edges may show slight softness at low settings, so raise the quality for logos with text. Photographs tolerate lower values well.
Before you convert
PNG is lossless and WebP made here is lossy, so keep your PNG originals if you may edit them again. Current browsers all open WebP, but some older tools and content systems do not.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The work runs inside your browser on your own device. Your files are never sent to our server or to anyone else. You can confirm this in your browser's developer tools: the network tab shows no file data leaving the page.
Does transparency stay?
Yes. Transparent areas in the PNG stay transparent in the WebP.
Is WebP supported everywhere?
All current major browsers show it. Some older editors and upload forms do not, so keep a PNG when in doubt.
Can I convert many files together?
Yes, up to 100 per batch, with a ZIP download.
