How to use it
- Drop your images into the box, or choose them from your device.
- Adjust the quality or output format under Options if you want to.
- Check the size shown next to each result and download the files.
How the compressor works
The tool decodes each image in your browser and saves it again with a lower quality setting. Lower quality means less detail stored and a smaller file. For most photographs, a setting between 60 and 80 percent cuts the size a lot while looking close to the original on a normal screen.
Choosing a format
JPG and WebP respond well to the quality slider. PNG has no quality setting, so saving a PNG again changes little. To make a PNG much smaller, pick WebP or JPG under Output format. WebP usually gives the smallest file, JPG gives the widest compatibility.
When compression does not help
An image that is already small or already heavily compressed may not get any smaller, and the tool will tell you so instead of giving you a worse file. If the picture is simply too large in pixels, try the resize tool, which lowers the dimensions and cuts the size more than quality changes do.
Privacy
Compression runs entirely on your device. Your images are never uploaded, and the results do not include location data from the original.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs inside your browser on your own device. Your images are never sent to our server or to anyone else. You can confirm this in your browser's developer tools: the network tab shows no image data leaving the page.
What quality setting should I choose?
Start at 75 percent. If the result looks fine, try 60. If you see blocky areas, go back up.
Why did my PNG barely shrink?
PNG is lossless, so re-saving it does not remove much. Switch the output format to WebP or JPG for a big reduction.
Can I compress many images together?
Yes. Add up to 100 and download them as a ZIP.
Will the dimensions change?
No. The width and height stay the same. Use the resize tool to change them.
