How to use it
- Add two or more PDF files. You can add more at any time.
- Use the arrows to put them in the right order, or remove any you do not need.
- Press Merge PDFs and download the combined file.
Combine documents without uploading them
Contracts, invoices, medical letters and scans are often private. This tool joins them in your browser, so no copy ever reaches a server. The pages are copied into a new PDF in the order shown in the list, with their text and images intact.
Setting the order
The first file in the list becomes the first pages of the merged document. Use the up and down arrows to move a file, or the cross to take it out. You can keep adding files before you merge, and they are added to the end of the list.
What carries over
Page content, text and images are kept as they are, so the merged file is not recompressed and does not lose quality. Document-level extras such as bookmarks and some interactive form fields may not carry over from the original files. Password-protected PDFs need their password removed first.
Tips
If the merged file is too big to email, run it through Compress PDF afterward. If you only need some pages from each file, use Split PDF first to extract them, then merge the pieces.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The work runs inside your browser on your own device. Your files are never sent to our server or to anyone else. You can confirm this in your browser's developer tools: the network tab shows no file data leaving the page.
How many PDFs can I merge?
There is no fixed limit. Your device's memory is the practical limit, so very large files may be slow on older phones.
Can I merge images with PDFs?
Not in this tool. Turn images into a PDF with the JPG to PDF or PNG to PDF tool, then merge the results.
Will the merged PDF be smaller?
No. The pages are copied as they are, so the size is roughly the total of the original files.
Why was a file rejected?
The tool accepts PDF files only. A file that is damaged or password-protected cannot be opened and is skipped.
