How to use it
- Drop your WebP files into the box or pick them from your device.
- Each image is converted to PNG in your browser.
- Download the PNG files one at a time or all together as a ZIP.
Keep transparency with PNG
Logos, icons and cut-out graphics are often saved as WebP with a transparent background. PNG also supports transparency, so converting WebP to PNG keeps the see-through areas intact. That is the main reason to choose PNG over JPG for these files.
Why convert WebP at all?
WebP is made for fast web pages, and many desktop programs, slide software and print tools still do not accept it. PNG is accepted nearly everywhere. If you only need a flat picture without transparency, a JPG will be smaller.
Things to know
PNG files are lossless, so they are usually larger than the WebP you started with. Animated WebP files are converted to a still image of the first frame. Everything runs on your device, and no copy of your image is stored anywhere else.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs inside your browser on your own device. Your images are never sent to our server or to anyone else. You can confirm this in your browser's developer tools: the network tab shows no image data leaving the page.
Does PNG keep the transparent background?
Yes. Transparent areas in the WebP stay transparent in the PNG.
Why is the PNG larger than my WebP?
WebP uses efficient compression and PNG does not. The PNG holds the same picture in a bigger file.
Is there a limit on file size?
Each file can be up to 200 MB and you can add up to 100 files per batch. Very large images depend on your device's memory.
