How to use it

  1. Drop one or more PDF files into the box, or choose them from your device.
  2. Pick a resolution under Options if the default is not what you need.
  3. Download single pages, or get every page in one ZIP file.

What this tool does

Each page of your PDF is drawn on a canvas in your browser and saved as a JPG. A ten-page PDF gives you ten JPG files, named with the page number so they sort in the right order. When there is more than one page, a button appears to download everything as a ZIP.

Choosing a resolution

The resolution is measured in dots per inch. 72 gives a small image that matches how the page looks on a screen. 150 is a good middle choice for reading and sharing, and a standard A4 page comes out at about 1240 by 1754 pixels. 300 is the usual setting for print and gives about 2480 by 3508 pixels for A4, with a much larger file.

JPG or PNG?

JPG makes smaller files and works well for pages with photos. If the page is mostly sharp text or line drawings, the PDF to PNG converter keeps the edges cleaner. Either way, the page is saved on a white background.

Limits to know about

Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened, so remove the password first. Very large pages are scaled down a little to stay inside what browsers allow, and the result tells you when that happens. Up to 300 pages are converted per file.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. The work runs inside your browser on your own device. Your files are never sent to our server or to anyone else. You can confirm this in your browser's developer tools: the network tab shows no file data leaving the page.

Can I convert only one page?

Convert the whole file, then download just the page you want. To cut the PDF down first, use the Split PDF tool.

Why is my PDF slow to convert?

Large pages at high resolution take more work. Try 150 instead of 300, or convert fewer files at a time.

Will the text stay selectable?

No. The result is a picture of the page, so the text becomes part of the image. To pull out the actual text, try the Image to Text tool on the saved picture.
